What happened?
- My husband does not give money for me or my childrenYou can ask the court for monthly maintenance, starting from the day you apply.
- I have been divorced (talaq)You are owed your mahr, a fair provision for your future, and you can also claim monthly maintenance.
- He said talaq three times at once, or by phone or messageThat talaq is void in law. You are still married, and you can claim an allowance and custody.
- I face violence or abuse at homeYou can get a protection order and keep living in your home. If you are in danger now, call 112.
- I want to end my marriageYou have two paths: khula, and divorce through the Family Court.
- Elders or a qazi want me to sign a settlementYou do not have to sign. No community decision can take away your right to go to court.
